Our Practice

At Copper Beech Institute meditation is at the heart of mindfulness practice. Mindfulness is moment to moment non-judgmental awareness. Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment, and nonjudgmentally. Mindfulness is the energy of being aware and awake to the present moment. This awareness helps us touch deeply the wonders of life and transform the roots of suffering. Mindfulness is not something that you have to “get” or acquire. It is an innate capacity already within you–a deep internal resource available and patiently waiting to be released and used in the service of learning, growing, and healing. At the Copper Beech Institute, we practice bringing mindful attention into all aspects of life–our speech, listening, eating, loving, resting, working, and playing.

We work to support our community by offering regular meditation groups, day and weekend retreats, and courses on mindfulness.
